A mysterious knight rises from the grave to save a beautiful damsel in extreme distress. Faced with a plethora of vicious creatures and giant beasts, his doomed quest turns bloody at twilight. Haunting images fill this dark fantasy through deep dungeons and across spectacular landscapes… set to a thunderous soundtrack, Swords by Sunset is Al Renke’s powerful directorial debut.
My rather ambitious first major piece, Swords by Sunset was made possible with the talents of Abraham Armories, the Knights of the Northern Realm and some other good friends I coerced into taking part. The “special effects” were primitive, the non-traditional storyline and bizarre music may have been questionable choices, and the decision to work in a big kiss-scene for my character was definitely suspect, but for a zero-budget production and my first rodeo it holds a special place in my heart. Not available for the time being, but you can watch the trailer here.
